Sarah's husband is actor James Murray, perhaps best known for his roles in Primeval and, infamously, in Russell T Davies' Cucumber. In 2009, the couple lost their eight-month-old daughter Ella-Jayne to congenital heart failure. The tragedy inspired the couple to set up the Murray Parish Trust and help raise money for paediatric emergency medicine in the south of England. Sarah's brother is songwriter and producer John Parish, who has worked with, among others, PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman, Eels, Goldfrapp and KT Tunstall.
